Out-of-office post!

I’m off to a writing retreat for the weekend, up on the glorious Georgian Bay.  Things have been a bit hectic lately but all will be revealed very very soon.

In the meantime, here’s a little slideshow of photos I took at last year’s retreat.  I feel completely unprepared this time around but I’m certain that I’ll be back feeling renewed and refreshed.

Have a great & safe weekend everyone!

winterglow 2010 & my first video

This will have to be brief since it’s already 9 and I’ve yet to take my photo for the day (yikes!).

Every so often, I’ll make a slideshow to send to friends and family, using photos from a recent party or trip somewhere.  I’ve never made one that was put to music but thought now would be a great time to try.

When I was working on the slideshow for Winterglow, I decided to try my hand at iMovie.  It seems pretty basic as far as video editing software goes.  I’ve never heard of any pros using it so it’s best to think of this attempt as amateur.  But I also decided to go this route because music was such a huge part of the weekend; it would’ve felt like half the story was missing without it.

So, that said, here is a little ditty from the weekend.

Okay, out to find my photo for the day!  Will be back soon.

TGIF

Good morning!  Okay, so maybe it’s not that early but it is early for me: I haven’t taken a single photograph yet today.

But I’m going off the grid for the weekend.  My lovely friend and writer extraordinaire, Chris Fraser, is hosting a creative winter retreat called Winterglow, at the Riverstone Retreat Centre near Durham, Ontario.  I am so blessed to be going.  While I can’t say for sure, I’m preeeetty sure I’m going to come back feeling light-infused and inspired.  Chris has this amazing ability to transport people to another world on her retreats and I’m excited about the weekend’s possibilities.

That said, I won’t be back until Monday (boo).  But on the plus, I’ll have at least 3 new photos to share so hopefully it will be worth the waiting.

In the meantime, I’ll leave you with a slideshow of photos that I took last summer, on a writing retreat that Chris facilitated at her family cottage, up on the majestic Georgian Bay.  It was magical and I’ve got a feeling that this weekend will be, too.

See you Monday!
